| Minutes of Planning Committee Meeting - 6.11.09 |
|
Those attending were: Linda Newell,
Barney Frederick, Joyce Beasley, Phyllis Forehand, Garnett Fields,
Gary Catlett, Jim Townsend and Ray Adkins.
Items discussed:
1. Do you want to
meet during the day? No, meet at night; maybe at
Wally's in East Ridge
2. Reg Smith will do
a web site.
--We need ideas for a Logo.
--Phyllis had gotten a plaque with the schools picture on it at
Cecil's 50th reunion. She forgot to bring it to show us.
-- She will bring it next time to show us what it looks like. May
could use it in the Logo.
--It was mentioned that Charles Smith and Mark Scherer could draw.
3. Reunion date to be
last weekend in May 2011. (but not on holiday weekend) I have not
looked at a 2011 calendar yet.
--We will send out a letter with the date.
4. Boat ride: Garnett
will check on this for us.
5. Ideas:
--Maybe a "sit down" dinner on Friday night
--"casual" on Saturday: Breakfast and/or Lunch
--catered
6. Recognize those
who have never come to a reunion before; this would be their 1st
reunion.
7. Check on the
facilities of the new Residence motel @ Lee Hwy: Linda Newell will
check on this.
8. Be sure the
"teachers" eat first.
9. Door prizes: no
more that 5
10. NO
formal program.
If you have other ideas, let us know.
You can email us or bring them to the next meeting to be announce
later. If you know of anyone else who wants to help on the
committee, tell them to come to the meeting or give me their names
and I will put them on the committee email list.
